What does hair mean to Melinda?

“I don’t need to curl define my kinky hair. When I decided to go natural in the 8th grade, my family made rude comments and jokes about my kinky hair texture. They only thought my kinky hair was beautiful when it grew very long. I realized that for some people “going natural” meant “going curly”, going from one acceptable beauty standard to the next one. Well, Psalm 139:14 says you are “fearfully and wonderfully made”. So, I love wearing my natural hair, just in case a little girl is wondering, like 8th grade me, if her hair is wonderful enough – YES it is! ”
